In the spirit of the weird blogs I have been blogging lately – I was reminded of a conversation I had with a 36 year old virgin last week. He recounts the story of how 2 girls were pushing him to give up his virginity and be one of “us”
The world is changing. Virginity is now rare. The normal is to have pre-marital sex. Virginity is weird.
I was reminded of a college girl who was being pressured by his non-virgin friends to give in. Almost everyday – they would tell her to give up her virginity. Sometimes they would ridicule her and call her V-I-R-G-I-N.
So one day she had enough and she faced her friends:
” I CAN BE LIKE YOU ANYTIME I WANT TO BUT YOU CAN NEVER BE LIKE ME.”
Go girl…… Be weird. Virgins rule! You too Virgin Man.. you rock!!!!

i am ALL FOR ABSTINENCE and remaining pure and holy before God…. no question about that.
but i’d like to share my thoughts on this coming from the other side of the spectrum… when i encounter people who have remained virgins…i have found that some virgins (not all) have taken their virginity as a form of spiritual pride… because they’ve kept themselves “pure & holy” for so long.
i always remind people that the only reason why people remain virgins as long as they have is no#1: only by the grace of God (i’ve known waaaay too many people that have lost their virginity because they got raped or molested). their choice to remain pure comes in 2nd.
