Disclaimer: This is not an endorsement of sort for Bro Eddie.
Could a Christian President finally solve our problems?
Year 2004 I was in Luneta chanting ” Bro Eddie, bro Eddie!!!” I had a supernatural experience standing backstage looking at the millions of people in Luneta that day. No it wasn’t Bro Eddie will win the elections – it was a call to preach the gospel like never before to a multitude who have never heard of the good news. I knew that if I remain faithful in my call to preach and disciple the nation I would have done my part in building this nation in my own way.
2010 and Bro Eddie is back. He is set to run for president. The only Christian president to run this year. So the question remains: Could a Christian President finally solve our problems? or how different would it be if a Christian president wins this 2010?
Before I continue this blog – I want to hear your opinion about it and I’ll blog later this week.

Depends…if Christian in name or Christian in principle. All of the candidates could claim they are Christian but how many actually put their Christianity into practice? Like forgiving those who offend them, being a goodsport, actually tithing, not stealing…etc…
Any opinion on Bro Eddie seeking endorsement from Pastor Quibolloy?

AKO AY PARA KAY BRO. EDDIE – PARA SA PAGBABAGO!
BANGON PILIPINAS! KILL CORRUPTION!
“When there is moral rot within a nation,
its government topples easily.
But with wise and knowledgeable leaders,
there is stability.
Proverbs 28:2
Anim na taon, walang corruption, mahal na bansang Pilipinas, BABANGON!
AFAIK, Bro. Eddie is the only presidential candidate whose main platform is a government reform through righteousness. Most, if not all of the other candidates promise to stop corruption, but I find that their plans of doing this is lacking, much less the underlying reason why they want to do it.
Aquino has vowed to stop corruption, but I haven’t heard him say how he’ll do it. And the fact that it was just a certain group of people who pushed him to run makes me shudder; considering that these same group of people are either the second generation or the original generation who “stuck” w/ Cory – people who have a lot to lose if Noynoy doesn’t win. He might have promised/sworn he would not steal, but what about the people around him? And I took note that Aquino did not ask the people around him to promise/swear not to steal.
On a different angle, having a Christian president at this point in our history would be very beneficial indeed. Here’s the reason why: in 2010, our nation is celebrating it’s Jubilee of Jubilees (490 years) since it’s rediscovery by Magellan. 2010 – 1521 = 489, but as per Biblical reckoning, we need to add 1 year to it because the year is already counted on the first day, much like that a child is in, say, Grade 2 even at the start of the school year and not at day of graduation.
The significance of 490 years is that: (1) it’s the same number that Jesus said one must forgive a person: 70 x 7, and (2) in Dan 9:24, we read what the angel Gabriel revealed to Daniel, “Seventy ‘sevens’ (70 x 7 or seventy weeks) are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.”
It is during this 490th year (or Jubilee of Jubilees) that the following happens: (1) transgression is finished, (2) end to sin, (3) wickedness is atoned for, (4) everlasting RIGHTEOUSNESS is brought in, (5) vision is sealed, (6) the prophecy is also sealed, and (7) the most holy is anointed.
We are at the point in history where the above mentioned seven events can and will happen. With a Christian president at the helm, under the direction of God, what do you think would happen? — An experience similar to the time when King David reigned over Israel is what comes to mind.
@Anson: Bro. Eddie wasn’t seeking an endorsement from Pastor Quiboloy. From what I heard from Bangon Pilipinas, he was invited by ACQ to visit, so Bro. Eddie paid a “courtesy call.” Although a lot of people (specially ‘Christians’) lambast Bro. Eddie for going around visiting various religious leaders, they seem to forget that when Bro. Eddie becomes president, he’ll be the president not just of born-again Christians, but also of Catholics, Protestants, all religious groups, even the MILF and MNLF. Although it would seem that Bro. Eddie has compromised, that is not the case. He’s just seeking out people/groups that are like him – people who have been and are still clamoring for righteousness in government, justice, peace, and all the things that a good government should provide for its people.
So, the “million-dollar” question is: will you join Bro. Eddie, Bangon Pilipinas, and the supporters of Bangon and Bro. Eddie in seeking genuine change for the nation (by putting a stop to corruption, by serving justice, by having peace) through the platform of righteous governance?
Shameless plug: There will be a “Proclamation of the Year of Jubilee for the Philippines Manila Conference” on March 22 & 23, 2010. Venue is at the San Juan “The Arena,” a.k.a. Flying V Arena in Pinaglabanan, San Juan City, right next to the Fountain International School. Ticket prices: General Admission – 200Php; Patron – 500Php; Sponsor – 1,000Php. Guest speaker is Bro. Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj, an Indian prophet based in Singapore and is the founder of Jesus Ministries.
God bless everyone!
We all know the only God is the solution..will a christian president will solve the problem? God can use even a non-Christian president to solve our nations problem….the question is will the Christians takes part in changing the nation? Just like Bro. Eddie always saying, its the collective wisdom and actionfrom people who love and fears God that will bring this nation towards changes.
i believe that a Christian President can make a difference. I’ve been with Jesus is Lord (JIL) Church for almost 20 years and masa2bi ko na ibang klase ang character ni Bro. Eddie. Ika nga nya, “The world is too poor to buy my convictions” and he has proven it many times. If God can use non-Christian president to solve our nations problem, how much more if tunay na Kristiyano pa ang maging presidente…=)
In my opinion, our country needs another “miracle” leader at this time that will ignite and unite once again ALL the Filipinos’ hopes and dreams of a “better Philippines – that will honor God”.
Every candidate has their own “shortcomings” and so are we, but i always prefer to vote for a candidate that i know as the person NOT with a “lesser evil” but “more of God” in his life.
Thanks+Best regards

i’m for bro.Eddie and i believe that God is calling him to do the work of David-to fight the goliath in our country and no other person can do that except a man of God…kung nd tayo mg-stand sa right ntin as a Christian to make a difference then we are not a concern citizen…
it is a change that need to start from every individual Filipinos, yet we need an initiator, Bro. Eddie can’t do it alone, he needs God, (he has it already), he needs every Filipino’s help, let’s help him, he needs his brothers & sisters in Christ to act what change we want for the nation (i think we should be with our brother at this fight) let’s fight together if really we’re praying for our beloved nation,…”righteousness exalt the nation…”
I previously campaigned, support financially and voted for Bro. Eddie. I maybe still will vote him…I maybe out of touch but will somebody enlighten me what has he done after he lost?..of course aside from having his own TV program and talking about what the present government is doing and is not doing. Still vivid in my mind during Ondoy…while others are scrambling to help..I saw them criticizing the gov. about their failures to act swiftly…don’t know if they did something aside from complaining…i stand corrected if my perception is wrong.
Yes! I am for BRO. EDDIE, God’s messenger to bring to fulfillment the destiny of this nation. It’s been so long that we’re praying to GOD to deliver our nation form all forms of evil, especially the “spirit of corruption”. We need to act this time, BE BOLD, BE STRONG for the LORD our GOD is with us with BRO. Eddie. We will conquer our promised land..if we will all stand and declare our faith like DAVID. Men are looking at the outside appearance but GOD is looking at the heart. We need to have a PRESIDENT chosen by GOD, then we will bring GLORY TO GOD…All Praises to HIS Mercy, for this year 2010 will be the Year of JUBILEE!!! Vote straight BANGON PILIPINAS! bro. EDDIE, the President of the PHILS> Declare in the Heavenlies and it will manifest here on earth…AMEN, amen, amen!!!
Dangerous territory you’re blogging into Pastor D. Hehe
an excerpt from JM.
IF a Presidential candidate rates HIGH in PATRIOTISM and INTEGRITY but rates LOW or even ZERO in Excellence, what is reasonable for Filipino Citizens to expect should that candidate be granted the privilege to serve by virtue of the “Sovereign Will” expressed through the right of suffrage by Registered Voters?
The HIGH ratings in PATRIOTISM and INTEGRITY will serve like a “thermostat”
that will provide the “pulling power” to attract and maintain those who live
by the same values of PATRIOTISM and INTEGRITY and the “pressure point” to
push everyone in terms of EXCELLENCE.
This is most important for the Presidency was, is, and will never be a
one-person job. The individual who will become elected as President needs
many individuals for the “Executive Management Team” that he will head.
The issue of EXCELLENCE applies more on the Presidential Appointees, rather
than just the President only.
Is Bro. Eddie PATRIOTIC? Does he have the INTEGRITY?
No offense to Bro. Eddie but I think it would be better off if he spread the Good Word and share the Words of God to the Filipino people than trying to run for President of an immorally corrupt society.
Anyway, since its my patriotic duty to vote in the upcoming election and that most presidential candidates are not worth voting for.. I’ll vote for Bro. Eddie since the rest of the presidentiables (except Gordon and maybe Gibo) are either too unqualified, too elite or too “plastic”, and even too un-Christian. God-denying atheists and liberals are waiting for a certain candidate to win the election so that they can open the country towards an immorally liberal society.
Maybe a Christian leader is the way to bring about moral changes to our already corrupt society. The last Christian leader we had, was also an “Eddie” and had a pretty good presidency (perhaps, the best in the post-Martial Law era) but his association to the greedy elites made him no different to the other leaders. Hopefully, Bro. Eddie will not let the greedy elites influenced his decision-making and his Christian moral will not be tainted by the corruption of politics..
It really escapes my reasoning and even my belief that some Christians who were supporting Bro Eddie in 2004 are now criticizing him for running again. And they have a very long list of reasons (gay issues, ptr quiboloy, death penalty, etc.) and I think the primary one is that they do not want the name of Christ to be dragged by a losing Christian brother in the last election. They perhaps believe that because that there was no miracle in the last election, it must not be God’s will for Bro Eddie to run, now again! ARE THEY EXPECTING FOR CHRIST TO PERFORM A MIRACLE ACT LIKE GARCI!!! The essence of FREEWILL becomes a side dish. It is God’s will for us to be saved, and in the same essence for this country to have a righteous government but it is our freewill to chose salvation and righteousness. That is why I choose to participate in this campaign, again – with more passion than before. I asked Christians to please do not dare to dragged the name of CHRIST, because in His name alone powers and principalities will tremble that is the same yesterday, today and forever – EVEN WITHOUT YOU. Don’t say Lord, Lord and be blinded by the social ills of this country and put your faith on that icon towering along EDSA that they claim to be watching over us and will protect us from any harm. TO ME THAT IS THE GREATEST COMPROMISE OF ALL. If this will shake our faith so be it. God bless us all!
I think Bro.Eddie missed his chance to win big time despite losing the last election,he could have won in the hearts and minds of the people by showing humility and graciously accepting defeat and see this as God’s process of propelling him into office this coming election.
Q: “Could a Christian President finally solve our problems?”
A: It depends.
I honestly believe that the President should not only be a Christian but he/she should also be experienced and knowledgeable for a government position.
Example: Sira yun tubo ninyo sa CR. Nagpost ka ng ad for tubero. Meron dalawa nag-apply. Yun isa non-Christian pero 5 years experience sa pagtutubero. Yun isang applicant Christian – Pastor. Sino pipiliin mo?
Before David defeated Goliath, God prepared him first in fighting lions and bears.

Being a part of the evangelical Christian group, I believe I should give my trust to my fellow believer and I believe as what the Bible says that all the more I should give favor to my fellow brethren in Christ. And because of this, I believe I am doing the right thing.
I believe there are also other candidates who can definitely bring out the change in our government, and it’s not only Bro. Eddie. And at the same time I believe Bro.Eddie can also bring that change.
I vote for Bro.Eddie simply because I believe he is the most qualified for the position and the cleanest candidate to take hold of presidential position. Furthermore, he is my brother in Christ Jesus.
Could a Christian President finally solve our problems? – this question is too complex that a simple yes or no won’t be enough.
^_^v (yes, i understand po that this is NOT the issue).
the solutions to the problems of our country is not in the hands alone of whoever will sit down in Malacanang. bro. eddie is heeding the call. he is responding greatly to the need of a moral leader. he is credible enough to say that his battle cry is for the Philippines to rise again with 6 years of uncorrupt governance.
with that, im taking the responsibility of responding to this need. i need to see the Philippines to rise again, i want my future family to live in a prosperous, honorable and a real Christian nation.
it’s hard to translate this desire to all. however, bro. eddie has a platform and a curriculum vitae with his administration, education and experience, which makes him worthy of my conscience and intellectual vote.
Could a Christian President finally solve our problems?
Probably YES. We have tried all kinds of presidents but we are still the same. May mayaman, matalino, militar, artista at kung sino sino pa. There is something wrong here people, its time for someone to step up. Bro Eddie took the challenge again amidst of all the criticisms that will come, even among his brothers and sisters in faith.
I believe God prepared Bro. Eddie for this presidency. Before getting saved, Eddie was an activist and a communist, fighting for justice and the rights of the people. He was just a student leader at UP College of Law, when Marcos imprisoned him twice. A graduate of Commerce @ PUP, a professor of Political Science, Finance and Management.
Then God called him to the ministry and got saved through his sister. 30 years after, JIL grew miraculously with chapters nationwide and 48 countries accross the globe. He established 30 JILCF schools because he value education that much and he wants everyone to have taht, specially the poor.
At the end of the day, Eddie wants to hear God say to him, “Well done, my good and faithful servant”, for Eddie made himself available to serve the Filipino people with his leadership skills and heavenly wisdom.
Have you ever wondered what pushes him to still go? It’s a matter of personal obedience even if the way is not smooth. That’s all!
Try listening to his interview with Mike to know what I’m saying: http://www.gmanews.tv/story/184771/bro-eddie-confident-of-eradicating-govt-corruption
The challenge is not only the election but after it,could he reach the expectation?
pilipinos were very emotional when it comes to the status of our nation,…sana lahat po ng nais ni bro. eddie sa ating bansa ay magawa natin ng sama’sama, Philppines will be a Righteous nation, productive nation, Christian known nation, Peaceful nation, and also God-centered nation, sana maalis n ang corruption sa gobyerno, sana maalis n ang mga non-competitive sa gobyerno, at mabuhay ang mga passive leaders ng ating bansa n ngiintay lamang ng isang leader ng mgiging katuwang sa knilang mga hangarin n maitaas at maisaayos ang ating bansa, i’m so much affected about the poor status of our nation…sana marealize n ng mga pinoy ang mga ngyayari sa ating bansa…,,May the perfect will of the Lord be with us”, and the pilipino will move on for this another chance and time….Godbless all the pilipino, Godbless the Philippines. BRO. EDDIE FOR THE PHILIPPINES”/////
“…Bro. Eddie, it is GOD’s will for you to become the President of the Philippines….”
– Dr. Cindy Jacobs
Too tired and torn of the lesser evils in the government and the issues stoned upon them yet everything’s the same. We must bring back GOD in all its systems, and who can lead the country to Him? None other than genuinely GOD- fearing and nation- loving President and Cabinet can do that. Bro. Eddie is NOT the answer. He is just one of the answers to the question… If we elect him yet we do the same ol’ things, what’s changed? Let us not just support Bro. Eddie and the Bangon Pilipinas slate, like him, instead, let us ALL be the change we want to see. Bless the Philippines, bless our fellow Pinoys, bless GOD!
The issue about change in our country, although it is leader-centered, is not solely resting on the shoulders of the Christian candidate running for the presidency. National transformation is about the readiness and willingness of the National Church (not just the Christian presidentiable)to bring about change and set the tempo of revival for the Philippines. Of course it is the Sovereign Act of God to change this morally bankrupt country but because Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the Church is His Body, the Church is the Agent by which God can bring about this much needed change. If the Church will not understand her God-given mandate to manifest and live a life worthy to be called as His children – living pure, morally upright, Christ-like lives – then, the Church should not expect anything good coming her way for being rebellious and remiss of her duties. the Church should only expect a curse and never a blessing.
Therefore, the change of season of this country depends on the millions of voters who will lead holy lives on top of voting for the candidate who has a genuine fear of God. If the change should begin on May 10, then let it commence. However, it should not stop on that date. It should go on.

Pastor Dennis, I’m also a father just like you and Bro. Eddie. I’ve always responded to questions like this from a perspective of a father.
I happen to live in a neighborhood where there are dangerous men, false prophets, and some good christians. My instinct as a father is to ensure that I protect my family in all circumstances. I can choose to arm my self with a weapon and defend against those who would try to hurt my family. Or, I could go out of my house, make friends of my neighbors, talk to them, say nice things to them once in a while without showing my biases against them. Maybe, in that way, I can earn their trust and hopefully spare my kids.
Bro. Eddie’s run for presidency has intrigued both christians and (forgive me for the discriminatory term) “non-christians”. There are tons of serious issues from the christians and non-christians that would render Bro. Eddie’s hunt for presidency illogical in the first place. And indeed, Mr. Ople, it’s a dangerous situation to try to rationalize the support to Bro. Eddie.
But if you are a father, you know that sooner or later you have to take a stand to ensure that your family shall continue to live in peace, even when you’re already gone. You know that these dangerous men, false prophets and some good christians live in your neighborhood too. What would you do? I’d say as Christian fathers, we need to be at the forefront of raising a peaceful community by getting everyone on board for righteousness.
Another six years of letting our community to dangerous men? I hope the good christians talk to their false prophets neighbors and ask them to join us in the fight for righteousness.Maybe, just maybe…it would pave the way for a livable neighborhood.
it depends…..
but its a plus….
christians tends to be the light
of this dark society
I believe that a President must have the following qualities: He must be competent (ability to lead), compassionaite (love for the people), and Fear of the Lord.
Bro. Eddie have this qualities, just look on his track record, educational background and achievements.
To Those who are doubting why Bro. EDDIE is running again please do a research! before, i’m supporting VILLAR but i said to my self that this 2010 election is crucial and i need not to make a mistake so i made a 3-month research to all candidates. i prayed and do my research. GOD convicted me and showed me that BRO. EDDIE is the one. brothers and sisters! I am voting for BRO. EDDIE because the GOD of BRO. EDDIE and my GOD is the same!so, if bro. eddie wins then i am confident that the will of the LORD for our country will be fulfilled! that der will be conviction and GOD’s anointing in his decisions! Bro. EDDIE is more qualified from the 2 who top’s the survey. so, pls. do research guys! GOD Bless
fact: time will come catholic church will no longer rule on this island nation
fact: Christianity (not the catholic one) is rising like never before
fact: the separation of the church and the state never exist on this nation, politicians feared the catholic leaders (history shows)
fact: that Christianity is NOT
the answer on the problems this country is facing on, Only Jesus…
Eddie:
I am a Christian. In my opinion, to be politically neutral is comfortable, it’s a very “safe” place (Of course, not dangerous). A neutral Christian wont be experiencing clashes with anybody’s opinion about whatever, neither would he offend anyone of his stand simply because he… doesn’t care.
That is the reason why for many years, GOD is disqualified, excluded, restricted in Philippine Government. Its really sad that many Christians believe this… and some are actually working hard to keep GOD away from the government.
My vote goes to the unpopular and unaccepted agenda of God for this Nation. My vote goes to the uncomfortable and dangerous…
I AM FOR BRO. EDDIE!
It is okay to run, but Bro. Eddie need not demote himself becoming a president. God have given him a larger task and that is to bring souls to the kingdom. Do you think unbelievers will still believe him today? Please listen, Paul never intended to join the ranks of the politicians during his tiime, Jesus did not join the politicians to bring people to the knowlege of knowing God. 100 years from now, people will no longer remember the infrastructure or buildings the president have built. Only history books will take note of that, but it will not be written in the palm of the Lord’s hand on how many people were saved. I cannot remember a politician who changed the world that was written in the Bible. It was the people who served God who was well remembered.
Gods assignment is better than the votes of the people. Bro eddie can do more than becoming a politician. Remember we are not citizens of this world, we need to think differently and act differently. Wala na siya pinagkaiba sa ibang politicians…his name was tainted because what he is preaching is not about the love of God…it is the love of country, it is his hatred to politicians..to our government…Jesus never hated the government of his time…he set an example. Bakit ba gusto niya mag president…? what is the allure of power…Jesus denied the powers of this world… He should set an example to pray for our leaders…what he is doing is the direct opposite of being a christian. Even his words…nakaka turn off,
If you think it is RIGHT to campaign for Bro. Eddie then do it.
If you think it is RIGHT OTHERWISE, then maybe you should just stop and just PRAY more. For it is the least you can do.
Instead of becoming a stumbling block to other Christians and non-Christians alike.
Actually, to tell you frankly, it is disheartening to hear some “pastors”, I say “PASTORS” that I met in a known prayer mountain last year telling negative words against a co-servant of the Lord from other church. And I know the other pastor myself.
And ironically, these pastors were about to return to manila that day after their so-called “One-on-one communion with the Lord” from that prayer mountain.
The best thing an anti-Bro. Eddie can do is PRAY MORE and sincerely please!
I guess you know that anyone who enters the presence of God becomes a changed person when he leaves it.
I am not a pastor but honestly, members and simple workers are watching you closely how you behave as LEADERS. So, if you believe God sees all things you better be conscious about your actions and words.
My stand? As a Christian, I will go for my fellow Christian no matter what the costs for the cause of God and this nation!
I go for BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA

@aads – hope you read the blog first. I am not against bro eddie.
Q: Could a Christian President finally solve our problems?
A: The Christian President is an instrument for God to solve the problems of our country. If Bro. Eddie winning as president will usher in the new season of God’s glory (and I believe it will), then we must reminded that it wasn’t him who did it. It is God. Bro. Eddie is a mere instrument chosen for this purpose, for such a time as this.
Q: how different would it be if a Christian president wins this 2010?
A: I would like to believe that Bro. Eddie will lead this country “on his knees”. That he will seek the guidance of the Omniscient God in making his decisions. That spells a huge difference as opposed to other candidates and even former presidents. If Bro. Eddie leads this country with God’s will always in his heart and mind, then I believe that that is the best our country could ever hope for.
Q: Could a Christian President finally solve our problems?
A: Yes. Specially is he has the Character, Competence, Courage and Compassion.
Is there not a cause for us to be the salt and light even in Politics?
So what if its dirty by nature.
That’s the point of the metaphor.
By God’s grace, I strongly believe that he can do the job. This is really the HUGE difference between Bro.Eddie and the rest of the candidates. Bro.Eddie works alongside with God, but not so with the rest of the candidates.
@rix mano… You have a wrong theology man. You have to reread the Bible well, and I assure you that such reasoning is only by personal opinion.
You will never see in the Bible that it prohibited God’s people to run for government offices. One thing is very clear though, “Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for the glory of God.”
If Bro.Eddie is not doing this to glorify God (which I strongly doubt), then it will not be good for him to run. But since godly things can still be seen in the core idea of Bangon Pilipinas party, “Takot sa Diyos, Pagmamahal sa Bayan”, then I believe this is to glorify God and for our nation to rise up again.
@rix mano… I am trying to analyze your comment above. And it really seems that you lack some reading. You said that Bro.Eddie is no longer preaching God but love of country.
The core ideology of Bangon Pilipinas is “FEAR OF GOD, LOVE OF COUNTRY”. Dito pa lang nagpapakita na ang kelangan ng ating bansa lalo na ng government is “FEAR OF GOD”. And then it should be accompanied by “LOVE OF COUNTRY” so that these leaders will do their best for our country.
I hope next time before you comment, you EXACTLY know first the platforms. And mind you, BANGON PILIPINAS IS THE ONLY POLITICAL PARTY THAT HAS THIS KIND OF CORE IDEOLOGY.
Sino pala iboboto mo? idolaters? corrupt? convict? chikboy? immoral? Buti pa sila, mas ok sila sayo, kesa sa isang taong may takot sa Diyos at pagmamahal sa bayan.
Well, no one can really force you to vote for him.
