I blogged yesterday about why the government is failing. Government have been taking too many responsibilities that they can;t handle it anymore. We on the other hand expect government to solve all our problem. So how do we put a balance into this.
To do so we need to understand what Government really is. Government is not just CIVIL government. Civil government is just one pillar of government in society. We also have 3 other pillars of government.
1. Family government
2. Church government
3. Voluntary government – financial institutions, business institutions, NGOs.
and lastly is the CIVIL government.
So imagine if these 4 pillars work hand in hand to solve society’s issues and rally towards national transformation. Here is how it would look like
In the Scripture we could see God’s design for national transformation. God raised up not one but 3 contemporaries to make it happen.
During Nehemiah’s time there were 3 Jewish heroes:
“Ezra was a clergyman, who taught the Bible to the restored community in Jerusalem. Nehemiah was a lay person who used his skills to rebuild the wall and infra-structure of Jerusalem to insure safe streets and a decent economy. Esther, meanwhile, used her position to work for just laws in the secular realm. Only all three people, working together, were able to rebuild Jerusalem into a viable city. One did evangelism/discipleship (working on the spiritual welfare), one did community development (working on the social and economic welfare), and one did social justice (creating laws that were just and allowed the community to grow). This was not only a lay-clergy leadership team, but a male-female leadership team.” – Tim Keller
It is different sectors of society working together to see this happen. Super Politician is a myth. A great politician knows that he needs to stay within his calling and partner (outsource) the other things that is not government’s responsibility.
BUT
This is not enough. And here is where God comes in. If God is not the foundation of the different institutions – it can also come crashing down. Remember Joshua – Moses’ successor. When he died it took just one generation to destroy what was built. That is why I am an advocate of teaching people to make God their foundation.
Is. 33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.

Galing!
A prophet from Ghana has been teaching about the pillars of society, but he says it’s best if these are called gates, not pillars, because each gate must rest on seven pillars.
Here are the gates:
THE 8 GATES OF SOCIETY
Rationale:
Every nation has pillars, institutions or sectors which when properly established will bring strength to the nation. There is the family sector, the religion sector, the government, economy, education, science & technology, media and arts, entertainment, sports and culture. These eight can also be called the 8 Gates of the Kingdom of God in the nation.
The Church of God must possess these 8 Gates of the Kingdom. Regrettably, the Church has lost control of these gates to the devil. We have given him a seat of honor in our homes, government, education, media, business, arts and entertainment, etc. These 8 gates originally came from God. They are meant to bring glory and honor to Him. They need to be restored to God’s original standards and mandate.
The 8 Gates of Society:
1) Family. This is the most basic, beginning point /department. We come to earth by the gate of the family, through the reproductive organs. God has meant the family to be a companionship, fellowship and relationship space.
2) Belief System or Religion. The family influences how we believe and think. Religion is the gate that must enable people to relate to God. We need to open this gate to the Lord Jesus, so that the Filipinos will come to His saving knowledge.
3) Government, Governance & Leadership. Our beliefs are constrained by the structures of government. Government is the gate by which people must be organized in a nation.
4) Economy. This includes the total resource of the nation (people, knowledge, natural
resources) which when all properly harnessed must offer opportunities for domestic and
international trade to gain profits to provide for the needs of the people and the nation, but
still sustain resources (like environment) of the nation.
5) Educational or School System. This must open the door for the transfer of knowledge between nations and peoples. God originally intended it to be solution-oriented, to provide solutions for the different needs in the society, not just for students to pass exams.
6) Science and Technology. Science is the systematic observation and pursuit of knowledge. It is the systematic attempt to understand & interpret the world (how things work). Technology is the systematic study of techniques for making & doing things (systematic study of how to make & do things). God has meant this gate to also be solution-oriented for the benefit of the nation, not just for profitability.
7) Media. This includes all forms of communication. The gate of the media is the medium of transfer of information to conscientize and disciple the nation.
We were created to have dominion and subdue the earth. Kingdom is focused on SOCIETAL TRANSFORMATION. Our mandate is to take everything back to God. That is why we are, to reconcile all things to Christ, to be God’s holy vessels of transformation & radical change. We are supposed to be making the difference in every sphere of life. We need to possess the 8 Gates of Society.
Prophecy by Rev. Abu Bako: Anything we need to MAKE A NATION is already there. We just need to ask the Lord to reveal it. Everything the Philippines needs to develop is already there, they just need to be uncovered by the Lord through our prayers.
Next post: The Pillars upon which these gates stand on.
God bless!
