R.I.P. Dondon

Was in a wedding tonight when i received a text that Dondon – one of our most faithful volunteer died. I had to read the message 3x before it finally sinked in.

Dondon – the guy who would faithfully bus the underprivileged kids to church every Sunday.

Dondon – the usher who was always ready to serve the people

Dondon – the faithful volunteer who would do more than what is expected without asking for any attention or recognition.

Bro – I could never thank you enough for making this world a better place through your God-kind of service and love for His people. It is people like you who makes Jesus famous.

Bro – you embodied what true volunteerism is. You have left a lasting legacy.

Dondon – maraming salamat and we will miss you

This is sad news indeed. He is part of my group during the recent Training For Victory at GH. He comes in really early that’s why he was able to get an award.

He makes it a point to have his spiritual journal and purple book checked every week.

Saw him for the last time 2 weeks ago during the 3pm service.

Im sure he is with our beloved “Dad” right now.

    You will be missed Don-don.

This is a not so good surprise. Just like you Dennis, it took a while before I realized it’s really Don. He expressed his desire of visiting Macau and be part of a short term mission trip and would remind me whenever we see each other in church. I’d always tell him to pray about it and am really encouraged because of his initiative. Suddenly, I had a flashback of New Manila days and yes, like you’ve said he was faithful serving in kid’s church.
He will be missed by many and my family is one of them.

  6. A reminder that life and short and that we only have one life to live. Don was a great volunteer because he had Jesus in his heart. Bless you Don… you are in a happy place right now, with the Lord!

    He served without reservation.
    He served without selfish ambition.
He served with so much passion.

We will miss him big time!

  8. Obet says:

Don has this gift of making the kids enjoy games even with a simple pik pak boom….passionate in everything he does for God.
