Church will never be just about the Sunday service, or the kids ministry, or the youth ministry, or the discipleship ministry or counselling, or mentoring, or theological issues. All of that is part of a bigger picture.
When Jesus said “make disciples of all nations” – He was not telling us to focus on our Sunday service. He was telling us to be missional. To penetrate the culture.
Sometimes we get bogged down in making Sunday so special when church is much bigger than SUNDAY. Church is building a city within a city. Church is the catalyst for nation transformation. Jesus’ plan is for the church to penetrate society.
So when you are in a staff meeting or talking to your leaders – start giving them a picture of why the church exists. The billions of people are counting on us. They are crying out for change. Dont get stuck with Sunday – church is everyday.
Discipling the City is the theme of our 25th anniversary. Its amazing to note that our leaders didnt even mention a larger and bigger church in the next 25 years. But a wider influence and impact as a church as a prelude in Discipling a Nation . I believe that its irrevelant to have a mega church in this nation if we are still in corruption and turmoil , beset by immoral leaders governing the country. I pray and hope that Victory church would become not just a church of the celebrity but a KING MAKER church who discipled and nurture the next mayors , congressmen , senators , govt officials , and yes the NEXT PRESIDENT of the Republic of the Philippines.
We have the heart , we have the tools , we have the people to make things happen. And most of all , we have the GOD OF THE NATION to install the first real Christian President of the country. SO HELP US LORD ! Amen.
