Baby Step 6: FIND A MENTOR WHO COULD HELP YOU THROUGH YOUR REBUILDING PROCESS
You can’t do it without any outside help. You need to learn this as early as now. Maybe you are newly married and have not encountered any major fights yet, I ask you to get a mentor and interview successful couples on how to build a strong marriage.
Me and my wife are blessed to have a number of couples we can run to and ask for advice, help and encouragement when we face bumps in our marriage. We have already pre-planned and ask people to be our marriage mentors.
The lessons we have learned from our mentors has caused us to avoid battles we don’t need to fight because somebody has experienced it ahead of us and would tell us not to go that route.
Just some advice:
1. Pick couples whose marriage is admirable.
2. You have to be the one to set a date and run after your mentors
3. Have a date with your marriage mentors at least twice a year.
4. Be prepared to bare all the things that has been plaquing your marriage. It would be hard to mentor couples who won’t tell the whole story.

Good post! Mentors are the way to go in life
Hi pastor dennis,
I attend victory church at the fort and used to enjoy your talks there. I have was able to attend maybe once or twice at ghills. Anyway, I am looking for a marriage mentor. I attend a small group which is CCF based but go to Victory fort every Sunday. Just recently, my husband started attending Sunday service with me – what a blessing. While we are still struggling with our relationship, i feel seeds have been planted. Having a marriage mentor would be great for us. I have been searching for one for years now. I pray you will be able to lead us to one.
